Consider this a huge push, you are missing out on the background story of what is sure an amazing series. The book alone will lead you to the series, and if you have read the series and not this book. The recommendation for this book is high, you will love it. I felt like I was with the Pilgrims traveling to a new world. Keeley didn’t soften their ideals, she gave us a clear picture. I love that the reason for the travel and new home was faith based.

The families in the story were unique and so driven to have a religious freedom and new land to govern by their biblical terms, that I have been driven to curiosity for the rest of this series. She will be the first female doctor in the Land if she can convince the elder council to award her the title. Each character ( Jonah is swoon worthy, ladies) made me feel as though I had just met a new friend. After completing her medical apprenticeship, Lydia Colburn devotes her life to treating the ill and injured of her village. I loved that it was the background to the Uncharted series, and I felt that reading it first was giving me a leg up into the series. Let me start by saying that Keeley is a new to me author, I was very excited to read this book. The struggles and faith led ideas were a perfect match for this reader. Each new chapter was like a wave of characters, and settings hitting the mental ship of the mind. A sweeping tale, is created in Aboard Providence.
